A beautiful hotel set in the woods with a lovely reception area and restaurant surrounded by large glass windows, creating a very peaceful atmosphere. There are also several comfortable places around the property to relax, which makes the setting feel quite special. The rooms are a bit more basic than I expected, although everything in my room worked perfectly. I stayed in the F Wing and found it to be well maintained, though a friend’s room wasn’t quite as good. The staff were amazing throughout our stay—always greeting guests with smiles and a warm hello. The set dinner in the restaurant was absolutely outstanding. It’s been a long time, if ever, that I’ve seen food presented so beautifully while also tasting fantastic. As a bonus, we played golf nearby and the golfing experience was excellent. I would highly recommend it if you are a golfer visiting the Hakone area.

What an amazing stay. The service was top notch, with great attention to detail and nice touches that elevated our stay. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, the complimentary beverages/onsite amenities were incredible, and our group of 3 really enjoyed the lounge wear provided to wear onsite and the gift socks. The Onsen was nearly empty every time we went and really added to the secluded, private, and lux feel. The breakfast was a Japanese style western breakfast which blew us away, even as an award winning chef myself, I rated it 10/10.

A lovely and serene resort tucked away in the forest. If you travel by public transport, you will need to walk up the path, where a golf cart will take you to the entrance. We had a seamless check in experience thanks to Debora. We were pleased to know that they served complimentary coffee & tea at the cafe and provided board games and a fire pit in the common area. The room we stayed in came with a coffee/tea maker and speakers, but no tv, which we didn’t mind. The view was beautiful. They provided pajamas and soft quilted jackets to wear within the hotel area. There is a free shuttle that can take you to restaurants within a 2 km radius. The only con was that the walls in the sink area could use a paint job as it has started peeling. Breakfast was excellent but lacking Japanese options in my opinion.

Such a beautiful and serene property in Hakone! Stayed for 2 nights and we wished we stayed longer. Booked the Superior Twin Room and loved how spacious and peaceful it was. We also loved the provided pajamas! Beds were comfy although they are a bit harder than typical US beds. Of note, bathroom was a whole wet room which meant that the whole floor, including the toilet, gets wet after a shower. Staff were super kind and helpful, and the onsite onsen is still something we're raving about -- super clean and luxurious. There was a misunderstanding with restaurant reservations and we ended up getting booked for Hyoseki instead of the main restaurant, but we were so grateful in the end since the kaiseki which was such a treat and so so flavorful . Hakone Retreat Fore was definitely a highlight of our trip!

Our favorite stay in Japan so far! We were greeted by Debora and her warm hospitality. The onsen onsite was very relaxing and they also have a lounge area with games and custom tea for you to make. The breakfast quality was also 10/10. You definitely need a car but this was the case in most places in Japan.
